here are plenty of historic sites you can visit which also featured in the show; think picturesque churches, stunning castles and grandiose stately homes.

For example, Tibbermore Parish Church served as Cranesmuir Church for the memorable witch trial scene, while other hotspots such as  Hopetoun House , Doune Castle , Dean Castle and Drumlanrig Castle were used for a variety of locations.
