Glasgow

If you're planning a city break in Glasgow, you may want to visit some of Outlander's locations anyway as they're some of the city's most picturesque spots.

For example George Square was transformed into a 1940s film set for the first season (where Frank spontaneously proposes to Claire), but even without the cameras it's picture-perfect with the ornate buildings.

Looking for a bit of greenery? Both Kelvingrove Park and Pollok Country Park featured as filming locations and make for a pretty spot for a stroll.

Edinburgh

The Scottish capital made a few appearances in seasons three and four.

For example the picturesque ruins of medieval Craigmillar Castle served as Ardsmuir Prison where Jamie is incarcerated, while the Signet Library doubled up as the Governor's Mansion set in Jamaica (if you want to spend some extra time here, they do afternoon teas!).

Bakehouse Close , which sits just off Edinburgh's Royal Mile, was transformed into an 18th century street to serve as the backdrop for Claire and Jamie's reunion, while Tweeddale Court also served as a reunion spot between Claire and Fergus.

Outlander fans, rejoice! The gripping drama is set to return for a fifth season with Amazon UK set to release the show.

Production began in April and although there's no confirmed release date, it's expected to be around late 2019 or early 2020.

The show follows the adventures of nurse Claire (Catriona Balfe) who is transported back to the 1700s where she meets the dashing Jamie (Sam Heughan) - but it's not just the thrilling plot that's kept viewers gripped.

That's because all of the drama unfolds in front of some seriously spectacular backdrops. We're talking rugged scenery, breathtaking natural landmarks and some very cool historic sites.

Daniel Craig will play 007 for the last time in Bond 25, which has just started filming in Norway.

Heughan was reportedly called up by producer Barbara Broccoli and asked to audition for the role.

Mail on Sunday reported a source's claims that the star was in the running despite losing out to Craig when he auditioned before along with Henry Cavill.

A palace statement confirmed that Beatrice tied the knot with Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a small intimate ceremony at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor.

Despite spending the day celebrating her daughter's wedding, it was business as usual for Fergie as she promoted her latest venture hours after the ceremony.

She wrote: "Today at 4pm on @storytimewithfergieandfriends I am going to be drawing Baby Elephants with @davidwilliampress and my guest friend is @mark.lisk #storytimewithfergieandfriends #childrensbooks #books #stories."

It's likely that Fergie had pre-recorded her post though, giving her chance to spend the weekend with her family after the celebrations.

As expected, fans of Sarah and her daughters were quick to comment on the post in their droves as they wished the bride and groom well.

One said: "Congratulations to your daughter Princess Beatrice and Edo. Soo lovely to hear some good news for a change. I hope you all have a beautiful day."

Another added: "Many congratulations on the wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo. Wonderful news. You must be very pleased."

A third went on: "Congratulations to your family and especially Beatrice on her wedding to Edo. All that matters is the marriage not everything else and she has done it her way. Fantastic news."

The Old Guard (Foto: Netflix)Film terbaru Charlize Theron yang bercerita soal sekelompok mercenary yang hidup abadi dan tidak bisa dibunuh. Belum jelas, dari mana mereka bisa mendapatkan kemampuan tersebut, akan tetapi mereka semua sudah hidup selama ratusan tahun.

Film yang diadaptasi dari novel grafis karya Greg Rucka, Andy (Charlize Theron) memimpin orang-orang yang dapat hidup abadi sama seperti dirinya. Booker (Matthias Schoenaerts) yang abadi sejak 1817, pasangan Joe (Marwan Kenzari) dan Nicky (Luca Marinelli) yang hidup abadi sejak Perang Salib, serta Nile Freeman (Kiki Layne) yang baru saja menyadari kemampuannya untuk hidup abadi.

Mengisi kekosongan film action blockbuster pada musim panas ini, The Old Guard mampu menghibur kita lewat adegan action dengan pergerakan kamera yang enak untuk dilihat seperti film Extraction.

Meskipun harus melewati plot devices Nile yang bertanya-tanya soal kelompok tentara hidup abadi ini dan bagaimana ia selanjutnya bisa hidup dengan kemampuan ini.


Sulit untuk mengadaptasi semesta yang sangat luas dari serial komiknya ke dalam film, namun beberapa subplot sengaja dibiarkan begitu saja untuk dapat dikembangkan lewat sekuelnya ataupun spinoff-nya.


Dari sekian banyak kekaguman yang dibawa film ini dari awal hingga akhir, PSR merasa klimaksnya agak sedikit off karena film ini malah membahas tentang potensi yang bisa dikembangkan untuk sekuelnya daripada resolusi yang baik.


The Old Guard bisa menjadi franchise superhero baru yang lebih fresh dibanding MCU atau DCEU. Walaupun tidak sebesar itu, semesta ini punya sesuatu yang bisa dikembangkan lebih luas lagi, mulai dari sekuelnya hingga cerita latar belakang masing-masing karakter yang dapat hidup abadi.

One more important thing (satu hall yang lebih penting) was that my English teacher assigned (menugasi) us to practice mempraktekkan) our English with foreign tourists (turis asing). Each student had to take a picture with the tourist and submit (menyerahkan) the picture to the English teacher.
